"Hi,
I'm Gary Bettman, commissioner of the National Hockey League. Firstly,
I'd like to apologize on behalf of myself, the owners I represent, and
the NHLPA. We've all just realized what an awful mistake we've made, and
as such, have resigned a new collective bargaining agreement. Effective
immediately, the 2012-2013 NHL season will resume. We will even let the
Florida Panthers rehire their mascot."
Man,
I wish that was the case. But unfortunately, it seems like the NHL may
be locked out for a very long time. It's a shame to
see millionaires squabble over percentages while the most important
players, the fans, get screwed over. While the league and the players
argue and bicker, we are left out in the cold. But with the second
lockout in ten years, we are fed up.
A few online
hockey fans have decided to do something about it. This season, the
players are locked out, but not the fans. We will be covering a
simulated 2012-2013 season, using EA's NHL 13. We will follow the
schedule day by day, game by game. We will provide streams for CPU vs.
CPU games, as well as articles, recaps, and various other blog articles.
We will also provide standings and stats for all teams as the season
progresses. In short, we are creating our own NHL hockey season.
Bear
with us over the next few days as we set up the streaming, organize
staff, and get this simulated league off the ground. If you are
interested to be a writer, video guy, odd job man, hold tight, as I will
soon post information for how others can get involved.
In the meantime, bookmark this blog, check frequently, and tell your friends.
We aren't trying to send anyone a message. Well, I guess we are.
No matter what happens, we won't lose our hockey.
