FIRST BROADCAST IS OFFICIAL!

Sadly, HBO won't be showing up for our version of the Winter Classic.

Hey folks, some really exciting news. This is actually happening!

We've got about a week or so until the actual league starts, which means that we are going to test out our system for the time being. This is a really important time for us, as it allows us to calibrate our technology, get a handle for the games, and get valuable feedback.

And so, with that, I'm pleased to announce the very first simulated game we will broadcast:

MONDAY, OCTOBER 1: RANGERS at FLYERS
8:00 P.M. EASTERN 5:00 P.M. PACIFIC

That's right, we will be broadcasting 2012's winter classic as our first ever simulated game! You can watch the game live at our twitch tv channel, where all our games will be broadcasted. The puck will drop at 8:00/7:00 central, and 5:00 pacific.

Additionally, we will stream a pre season game every night until the start of the actual season, on October 11. Be sure to keep an eye on the schedule to stay completely up to date.

Additionally, feel free to follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to stay on top of things!

Today we take a look at the Eastern Conference, and place our bets on the top five strongest competitors for the cup. Counting down from number five, all the way to number one, we will take a look at the conference's best chances out east.

WEEKLY SUGGESTION BOX

Hey folks, since this site is a growing monster, it still needs time to develop. Consider this the awkward teenage years of this blog/league's life. We are constantly working on making this site the best possible thing, which means we are 100 percent open to suggestions, feedback, or critique. I'll make a weekly post for users to suggest features, changes, etc. It's nice to have it all in one place where myself and other readers can discuss. Feel free to leave any comments, questions, or feedback in the comments below!

BROADCAST INFORMATION

Hey folks, please take a look at this for some important information regarding the broadcasting of our scheduled games.

All of our streamed games will be viewable at Hardcore_Haas's twitch.tv channel, so a big round of applause to him for helping out. We may also compile highlight videos and recorded games.

We will mirror the exact NHL 2012-2013 season, and will try to broadcast all of the games in whatever way shape or form.

To view the list of upcoming events, and our upcoming broadcasts, take a look at the schedule. We will start our first live broadcasts around the same time as the real NHL would start up, so expect some major action to ramp up between October 4 - October 11.

This site is still in its infancy, so please bear with us as we figure out the best possible schedule. If you have any suggestions or comments, don't hesitate to let us know.

Additionally, we are going to have to test out our streaming system, so we will most likely have a few test broadcasts, so stay tuned, where we should be streaming our simulated winter classic!

Stay tuned folks.

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS PLACE?

"Hi, I'm Gary Bettman, commissioner of the National Hockey League. Firstly, I'd like to apologize on behalf of myself, the owners I represent, and the NHLPA. We've all just realized what an awful mistake we've made, and as such, have resigned a new collective bargaining agreement. Effective immediately, the 2012-2013 NHL season will resume. We will even let the Florida Panthers rehire their mascot."

Man, I wish that was the case. But unfortunately, it seems like the NHL may be locked out for a very long time. It's a shame to see millionaires squabble over percentages while the most important players, the fans, get screwed over. While the league and the players argue and bicker, we are left out in the cold. But with the second lockout in ten years, we are fed up.

A few online hockey fans have decided to do something about it. This season, the players are locked out, but not the fans. We will be covering a simulated 2012-2013 season, using EA's NHL 13. We will follow the schedule day by day, game by game. We will provide streams for CPU vs. CPU games, as well as articles, recaps, and various other blog articles. We will also provide standings and stats for all teams as the season progresses. In short, we are creating our own NHL hockey season.

Bear with us over the next few days as we set up the streaming, organize staff, and get this simulated league off  the ground. If you are interested to be a writer, video guy, odd job man, hold tight, as I will soon post information for how others can get involved.

In the meantime, bookmark this blog, check frequently, and tell your friends.

We aren't trying to send anyone a message. Well, I guess we are.

No matter what happens, we won't lose our hockey.
