GAME WEEK RECAP: SILVER LININGS EDITION

No hockey yet?!? Won't anyone think of the children?!?

Sorry for the fact that this blog has been silent for the last week- it's mostly been due to the recent developments in the CBA talks. That brings us to the big announcement.

Sadly, there's not going to be any hockey until at least November, which really, really sucks. But there is a silver lining- we are still going to bring you your hockey fix! It's no substitution for the real thing, but our virtual hockey players aren't as greedy as the real ones. So let's take a look at what's been going on after the first week of play!

Hello everyone, and thanks for tuning in last evening for the start of our regular season!

I'll frequently post updates recapping the goings ons of the Lockout League (maybe not daily, but very often), just to keep everyone and everything up to date. This is one of those updates.

LOCKOUT LEAGUE WESTERN CONFERENCE: TOP FIVE

As we wind closer and closer to Thursday's official launch, we are still firing away with our wild and baseless predictions. This time, my unprofessional opinion sets its sights on the best coast- the Western Conference.

Home of last year's Stanley Cup Champions, the Los Angeles Kings, the Western conference has a consistently elite pool of talent. Which ones do I predict will end up in the top five? Which ones are the most likely to raise the pixelated cup?

Read on to find out.

GET YOUR FRESH STATS!

Heyyo!

Some more exciting news in regards to the development of this project! I have just fully implemented the stats page, which you can see here!

I've seperated the teams by division, instead of bundling everything into one big spreadsheet. With this system, I can easily update player statistics with little hassle, which makes life easier for us, but things convenient for you. Once the league is underway, be sure to keep an eye on that page.

This was a big undertaking, entering the data for all the players for every team, so there are bound to be mistakes. If anyone sees any, feel free to let me know. Now that this is out of the way however, expect more  articles and features leading up to the season start. I'll be posting the best in the west feature shortly!

Cheers,
Derek

GREAT SUCCESS! MORE GAMES TO COME!

Hey everyone, just wanted to give a big shout out to all who came out and watched the games last night- I think we can generally categorize it as success indeed! We had a few issues with the streaming, but overall, the quality was good, and the service was uninterrupted.

Since we are still leading up to the actual season start, we will constantly be feeling things out and testing our system, so feel free to swing by one of our preaseason game broadcasts and give us some input! We are still fiddling with the little things, like camera angles, game length, etc.

We will be braodcasting preseason games every day until the 10th of October, where we will start our regular games. Hardcore_Haas, our broadcaster mostly takes requests for the match ups, so feel free to drop by and let him know what you'd like to see!

Stay up to date with our broadcast schedule.

FIRST BROADCAST IS OFFICIAL!

Sadly, HBO won't be showing up for our version of the Winter Classic.

Hey folks, some really exciting news. This is actually happening!

We've got about a week or so until the actual league starts, which means that we are going to test out our system for the time being. This is a really important time for us, as it allows us to calibrate our technology, get a handle for the games, and get valuable feedback.

And so, with that, I'm pleased to announce the very first simulated game we will broadcast:

MONDAY, OCTOBER 1: RANGERS at FLYERS
8:00 P.M. EASTERN 5:00 P.M. PACIFIC

That's right, we will be broadcasting 2012's winter classic as our first ever simulated game! You can watch the game live at our twitch tv channel, where all our games will be broadcasted. The puck will drop at 8:00/7:00 central, and 5:00 pacific.

Additionally, we will stream a pre season game every night until the start of the actual season, on October 11. Be sure to keep an eye on the schedule to stay completely up to date.

Additionally, feel free to follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to stay on top of things!
